As part of Dark Skies 2025, a screening of The City Dark (PG*) took place at BEAM. The 2011 feature documentary by Ian Cheney explores the topic of light pollution and the subsequent ‘loss of the night’.

Post film, lighting designer Simon Thorp (LAPD Lighting Design) led a talk about the effects of light pollution and gave insight into the individual steps that can be taken to minimise our impact.
